With his first signing to Doc Scott's legendary 31 Records, Dan Brady AKA Mixmaster Doc, burst onto the drum & bass scene seemingly overnight. Humbled by the support of a whos who list of A-list DJ's such as Fabio, Marky, NuTone, Commix, & Goldie to name but a few, he became focused on producing the old school sound that originally drew him in at age 13. Born and raised in NJ, Doc spent most of his youth a slave to DJ culture, buying tapepacks, digging in the crates, and of course spending hours a day behind the decks. Even before he was able to drive, his grandmother made sure he never missed a beat, taking him to all the area records stores and at times even driving him to raves so he could play his first gigs.

Though Dan's original career was to be in medicine, hence the name "Doc", he couldn't shake his overwhelming passion for drum & bass. His move to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he currently resides, marks the pivital moment where he gave up medicine and instead began to devolop his trademark sound. Known for his cinematatic atmoshpheres, use of classic drum and bass breaks, and of course his earth shattering bass, Doc's music quickly became popular with both djs and ravers a like.

One cant help but hear Doc's influences in music. Whether its the sub pounding bristol basslines or the eerie scifi vibe that was such a part of the legendary blue note sound, Doc's music takes us back to a time when the music was alive and fresh. When the music was more then just music, when it was a way of life.

Based in São Paulo, Ney Faustini (27) started his path into the world of music through a overwhelming passion for Drum & Bass. His dedication was total since 1999, takin part in the inception of the very first website exclusively dedicated to the genre in the country: www.drumbass.com.br. But it was mainly handling the turntables that Ney began to stand out among a crescent harvest of new talents that blossomed to the sound of Marky at the decks of Lov.e Club’s Vibe nights, with whom he’d soon be sharing the same legendary booth. And it was during this golden age of Brasilian Drum & Bass that Ney built up his reputation as a skilled DJ, owner of an unique technique and careful in his selection, what garnered him some residencies and invitations to nearly every event and club that has become a reference to the genre in Brasil, sharing the spotlight with some of the most renowned DJs and producers of the international circuit.

In 2004, Ney Faustini started his first experiences as a producer working with Bungle and releasing "Leaving São Paulo" on Nu Directions, in 2006, and "Love & War"/"No Routine", on Jerona Fruits, in 2007. Neil McIlwraith, a.k.a Specific, currently resides in London although originally is from Pembrokeshire in West Wales.

Around 2000, he had his first experience at DJing and was hooked. High Contrast's 'True Colours' LP completely inspired him to turn his hand to producing DnB, spending the first year of university making tracks and passing them to local DJs for feedback.

A chance meeting with Alix Perez (at the time also unsigned) though an internet forum led to the pair collaborating on a few tracks via AIM.

These initial 4-5 tracks got great feedback from a lot of DJs and producers. One of the tracks was Drive By which was eventually signed to Progress Records.

The collaboration parnership led to the most well known works together; Just Memories and Love Bug, which were both play-listed daytime tracks on 1xtra.

Specific's sound is soulful but still able to work on the dancefloor.

His melodic use of arranging samples always create a unique sound that is recogisable almost immediately as his own.

The recent move to London has found Specific producing more than ever. Drawing upon the cities vibrant atmosphere and music scene and already starting to make a name for himself in the capitial.

Andy Mystic is the moniker given to 28 year old drum & bass label owner, A&R man, DJ and designer Andy Hayes. With a healthy appetite for art, design and speeded breaks Andy was instrumental in the creation of the popular drum & bass label NuDirections in 1999. Designing the logo and subsequent artwork with the occasional production eventually lead to taking full control of the labels operations in 2005. Now with Nudirections approaching it's 10th year, Andy handles all aspects of his imprint running, from the artwork to writing the press releases. With a keen eye for design, Andy has been responsible for much of the artwork, flyers and web material.
